Vientiane, the capital of Laos

The capital city, which is said to be the most empty in the world, is really laid back and time passes so slowly that you wonder if you're in the center of town.

There are glittering temples all over the city, and since 60% of the population is Buddhist, it's obvious that religion is a part of everyday life.

The people on the street are really kind, and it's been a long time since I've been able to travel so peacefully in an unfamiliar country.

I walked around without feeling any sense of danger at all.
