That Dam, an ancient pagoda in the center of Vientiane

Phra That Dam is located in the heart of Vientiane, near Wat Si Saket. You can walk or drive there. The pagoda is in the middle of the road, which is a roundabout. You can walk around and see the pagoda and the surrounding buildings on a nice day.
It is believed that this pagoda is home to a seven-headed naga, which protects the Lao people. It is believed that it was built when the capital was first moved here.
