VinWonders Nha Trang: A Fairytale Kingdom in Reality

VinWonders Nha Trang on Pearl Island.

Located on the resort island of Pearl Island in Nha Trang, this park consists of four main sections: a theme park, a water park, a zoo, and a botanical garden.

Due to time constraints, we only visited the theme park on the island. I can confidently say that this VinWonders trip was the best theme park experience I've had in recent years, surpassing Shanghai Disney and Beijing Universal Studios. It's evident that this park has learned from the design and operation of various global theme parks.

For instance, like Universal Studios Singapore, it's built on an island; like Hong Kong Ocean Park, it has tiered levels at the foot and top of a mountain with access via a sea cable car; and like Shanghai Disneytown, it features a free dining and shopping area. However, each aspect is successfully localized with great attention to detail, completely devoid of the cheap feel often found in many domestic theme parks in China.

Although we visited during a peak day, the crowd was extremely manageable compared to domestic theme parks. We spent half a day enjoying seven representative attractions, with the longest wait being just under 50 minutes. Most queues were under 20 minutes, providing an excellent experience. The scenery within the park is also stunning, especially when night falls and the lights on Pearl Island illuminate, transforming the park into a magical fairytale world. Vietnam celebrates the Lunar New Year just like China.

We visited on the fifth day of the first lunar month, and the park hosted a special Tata Show at 7:30 PM in the castle square, featuring a warm-up performance for the New Year. The Vietnamese version of dragon and lion dances and the God of Wealth made appearances, adding a festive and fun atmosphere.

However, fearing the crowd after the Tata Show, we left the park a few minutes early, yet still waited half an hour for the cable car to leave the island. Looking back at the brightly lit VinPearl from the cable car, it felt like waking from a dream.
If you're visiting Nha Trang, make sure to visit Pearl Island; it's an unforgettable experience!
