Before going to Washington, I happened to see a movie. When Martin Luther King was giving a speech, Forrest Gump jumps into the lake after seeing the woman he loves! That lake is the "Reflecting Pool" facing the Washington Monument! I also took a picture with the Washington Monument in the background, and it felt strange because it really felt like I was in the movie. It's close to the "Lincoln Memorial" built to commemorate the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln, so I recommend visiting them together - ♡
