Can a power plant serve ice cream? Super affordable popsicles!

If you're planning a trip to Wulai or driving along the Beiyi Highway, I highly recommend stopping by "Guishan Power Plant" for a quick visit! While it’s not a major tourist attraction worth a dedicated trip, it’s home to the famous "Guishan Power Plant Popsicles." On a hot day, enjoying one of these popsicles is the perfect way to cool off!

🍦 One thing to note is that this is just a small convenience store mainly selling popsicles, without many other facilities or attractions to explore. Treat it as a rest stop during your journey, and it’ll be just right!

🧊 Atmosphere/Facilities:
As soon as you arrive, you’ll see a small convenience store with a few tables and chairs outside for resting. The vibe here is simple and rustic, as it’s a spot frequented by locals and passing tourists looking to grab a popsicle.
The highlight, of course, is the popsicles themselves! They come in a wide variety of flavors, such as plain ice, pineapple, passion fruit, rice cake, peanut, and more—all made with clean water from the Nanshi River. My personal favorite is the rice cake flavor, which has chewy rice grains and is quite unique! Plus, each popsicle costs only around 10 NTD, making them incredibly budget-friendly. I can’t resist buying several every time I visit.
After enjoying your popsicle, you can take a short stroll around the area. The Nanshi River is right next to the site, offering nice views and photo opportunities.

💰 Cost Information:
Entrance Fee: Free, and you can drive directly into the area.
Popsicle Prices:
Plain ice popsicle: 8 NTD each.
Most other flavors: 12 NTD each.
(Prices are super reasonable, but always check the latest prices on-site!)
Parking Info: There’s a parking lot within the area, and parking is free, which is very convenient.

⚠️ Tips:
Due to the popularity of the popsicles, the convenience store often has long lines on weekends. If you’re planning to buy a whole box to take home, it’s a good idea to bring your own cooler bag to prevent them from melting quickly in the heat. This spot is close to other attractions like Wulai Old Street and Swallow Lake, making it easy to include in your itinerary.

🕰️ Opening Hours:
Monday to Friday: 08:30 - 17:00
Saturday and Sunday: 09:00 - 18:00
