It is recommended to walk to the highest point of the third section, Denglong Peak, and then return for the best experience of viewing red leaves. The entire Three Gorges Longji hiking route is about 12 to 14 km long and takes about 3 to 8 hours. The specific time varies from person to person, with those in better physical condition completing it faster and those in poorer physical condition taking longer.
