Even after the Spring Festival Gala, Wuxi's already famous attractions like Huishan Ancient Town, Qingming Bridge, Nanchang Street, Yuantouzhu, and Plum Garden have become even more popular! It even made me, a Suzhou native, want to experience the post-Spring Festival Gala Wuxi craze.
March 1st fell on a weekend, coinciding with "February 2nd, Dragon Head-Raising Day," and the temperature suddenly rose by 10°, turning early spring into early summer, making people feel happy and energetic.
Huishan Ancient Town was bustling with people. The originally quiet ancient buildings and streets, such as the Huishan Temple from the Northern and Southern Dynasties, the renowned "Second Spring Under Heaven," and the Ming Dynasty Jichang Garden, were crowded with tourists, most of whom were searching for traces of the Spring Festival Gala and taking photos.
Qingming Bridge and Nanchang Street were the core areas of the Wuxi sub-venue for the Year of the Snake Spring Festival Gala. The long bluestone roads, winding rivers, unique shops and restaurants, colorful lanterns, and ubiquitous Spring Festival Gala photo-op signs allowed people to find their own joy and cultural resonance.
A trip to Wuxi is incomplete without a culinary experience. Wang Xing Ji's steamed buns and magnolia cakes, and Xishengyuan's mixed wontons are must-try delicacies. Enjoying these treats by the river in the ancient town while admiring the Jiangnan scenery offers a unique charm.
