Korean Drama-Style Rapeseed Fields | Complete Spring Travel Guide to Wuyuan

I never thought I would fall in love with rapeseed flowers before turning 50, until the Korean drama "A Good Day to Be a Dog" inspired me to see these golden fields🌼. In April, we visited Wuyuan, where spring transforms the landscape into a living ink painting with hillsides of rapeseed flowers, ancient villages with white walls and black tiles, and morning dew-covered stone paths. If you're planning to visit Wuyuan, make sure your boyfriend saves this guide!

🚘🚘Itinerary:
D1: Zhangcun > Sixie Yancun > Yantian
D2: Jiangling > Qingyuan > Shangtan > Likeng

🏞️🏞️Must-Visit Spots:
✅Zhangcun: A 200-meter wooden bench bridge spans across Zhangxi River. In the early morning, mist rises from the river surface, with distant mountains half-hidden, creating an ethereal scene.
✅Sixie Yancun: A Hui merchants' settlement from Ming and Qing dynasties, featuring 136 connected ancient houses. Green tiles and white walls reflect in the ponds among rapeseed fields, like a fresh ink painting.
✅Yantian: A thousand-year-old camphor tree stands guard as streams flow around the village. Walking through golden rapeseed fields feels like stepping into a parallel universe of "A Good Day to Be a Dog," encountering a destined fragrant moment.
✅Jiangling: Thousands of acres of terraced fields spiral from the foot of the mountain to the clouds. Morning mist flows like gossamer over the flower sea, with ancient villages nestled among white walls and black tiles, resembling a paradise from an ink painting.
✅Qingyuan: A secluded village surrounded by rapeseed fields, with Ming and Qing dynasty houses still bearing plaques of "Official's Residence" and "Scholar's Home." A millennium-old ginkgo tree silently guards this land.
✅Shangtan: New leaves rustle on the ancient camphor trees as sunlight scatters like gold on the water. Bamboo rafts cut through mountain reflections while stream sounds and birdsong create a healing atmosphere.
✅Likeng: Streams flow through the village with Ming and Qing houses built along the riverbanks. Take an afternoon boat ride downstream as red lanterns on both banks scatter like sunset glow on the emerald waves.

🍽️🍽️Must-Try Local Food:
Stewed tofu (slow-cooked soybean residue with dried shrimp), steamed pork with rice powder (with sweet potato base absorbing meat flavors), Qingming rice cake🌿(mugwort-colored wrapper filled with bamboo shoots and cured meat, fragrant when steamed), stir-fried wild ferns (wok-fried over wood fire with small chili peppers)

🏩🏩Accommodation Recommendations:
Wuyuan County (multiple choices, good value, convenient transportation, rich dining options, complete facilities)
🥇High-end Resort: Wuyuan Xinbang Hotel, Wuyuan Houtang Manor
🥈Value Choice: Wuyuan International Hotel, Xichen International Resort Hotel
🥉Boutique Chain: Yiduo Hotel, Yunji Hotel

Boyfriend Tips:
📸 **Photography**
Choose white, beige, light blue, or low-saturation solid colors to contrast with rapeseed flowers. Avoid complex patterns or high-saturation colors that compete with the flower fields. Light makeup looks more fresh

⚡ **Warning**
Don't buy "freshly picked rapeseed flower crowns" in scenic areas! Villagers sell them for 5 yuan outside

🌸 **Flowering Period & Equipment**
Rapeseed flowering period: March 15 - April 10 (may be delayed in cold weather)
Must-bring list: Folding reflector (lighting essential), folding stool (for aerial shots of flower fields away from crowds)
