Giant wild goose pagoda

#100TravelTips #VisitXi'an #Xi'an
Da Ci'en Temple, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, is a pagoda that is over 1,300 years old. It was built by the monk Tang Sanzang who brought the Tripitaka that he invited from India to keep. The legend tells of the origin of the name of the pagoda. It comes from the incident that when the monk Tang Sanzang was inviting the Tripitaka, he walked through the dry desert and almost died of starvation. He happened to see a flock of wild geese flying by, so he followed them and eventually found a water source. Therefore, he named the pagoda to commemorate that incident. The pagoda is open for visits. There is a small entrance fee. Inside is a spiral staircase and there are some small antiques on display. The area around the temple is beautifully decorated and there is also a shopping complex.
If you come to Xi'an, I recommend visiting this historical place at least once.
