“The Tang Dynasty’s Stone Beacon”

My recent visit to Xi'an's Dayanta, home to the iconic Big Wild Goose Pagoda, was an unforgettable experience. Climbing the seven-story pagoda was exhilarating, offering breathtaking views of the city from its highest point.
My cover photo was taken from the top deck of the pagoda. Featuring the view of Xi’an from the pagoda.
The pagoda stands within the magnificent Da Ci'en Temple, a site renowned for housing scriptures brought back from India by the legendary monk Xuanzang. It was fascinating to see how his epic journey, immortalized in "Journey to the West," has become a living part of history.
The temple grounds were also a treat, with vibrant flowers adding a pop of color to the ancient architecture. Witnessing locals praying added a sense of serenity.
Tip - One of the best aspects of visiting Dayanta is its convenient location within Grand Tang Dynasty Ever Bright City. This makes it an ideal stop for travelers with limited time, especially if you’re heading to the airport afterward. You can easily spend a few hours exploring the pagoda and its surroundings before catching your flight home.
