Former Residence of Yan Xishan, the "King of Shanxi"

Yan Xishan's former residence is one of the largest bureaucratic private residences in old China that is relatively well preserved.

This group of modern buildings in Yan Xishan's former residence, which is magnificent and has a bizarre layout, is not only a precious object for studying the rise and fall of the Yan family, but also a historical relic of the ups and downs of Yan Xishan's political career.

The first floor was built in 1914 and is one of the highest points in Yan's mansion. In 1934, Chiang Kai-shek and his wife Soong Mei-ling visited this floor.
