Big Wild Goose Pagoda

The Big Wild Goose Pagoda is a place where people come to pray for wisdom, sharpness, education, and learning. This pagoda houses the original Buddhist scriptures brought from India by Xuanzang. Originally built during the Tang Dynasty, the pagoda was constructed to store the Buddhist scriptures brought from India to China by Xuanzang. Initially, the pagoda stood at five stories tall, but it has undergone several renovations and survived major earthquakes. Today, it stands at seven stories high and leans slightly to the west. The pagoda is surrounded by the Da Cien Temple complex, which spans an area of 50,000 square meters. With its simple yet majestic design and over a thousand years of history, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
