
Xiaogoubei Scenic Area is located in Shaoyuan Town, northwest of Jiyuan City, Henan Province, on the border between Shanxi and Henan. It lies at the intersection of the southern Taihang Mountains and the eastern Zhongtiao Mountains. It is a typical natural scenic area dominated by volcanic rock structures. Major attractions include the Stone Cave, Seven-fold Waterfall, Phoenix Terrace, Qinglong Waterfall, Dragon Trough and Phoenix Pond, Yinhe Gorge, Fuxi Terrace, Tongtian River, Nuwa Temple, Taiji Stone, Four Elephants Stone, and Golden Toad Looking at the Moon Stone.
It has a warm temperate continental monsoon climate, with warm and windy springs, hot and rainy summers, clear and cool autumns, and dry, cold, and little snow in winters.
