Tang Jiyao's former residence is located at No. 14, Sandao Lane, Beinei Street, Huize County, Yunnan Province, covering an area of 851 square meters. The quadrangular courtyard architecture is a typical residential architectural style of the late Qing Dynasty. The entire residence faces south and north, divided into two courtyards, with the main gate facing east. It is a small, enclosed quadrangular courtyard complex, typical of Huize's residential architecture of the mid-to-late Qing Dynasty. The front courtyard features a main hall with three rooms, an adjoining hall, a study, and stables. The backyard has a warehouse for storing grain and a kitchen. A well, the water of which is crystal clear, is visible to the bottom.
The front and back courtyards together contain fourteen houses, and the entire compound is largely intact. Compared to the many exquisite and magnificent residences in Huize, Tang Jiyao's former residence is somewhat simple, reflecting his family's modest status in Huize at the time.
