Summer Vacation One-Stop Fun in Xiamen: Enjoy Cool Air and Delicious Food, Kids Have Fun While Moms Relax!

Summer vacation is here, and keeping the kids entertained has become a challenge for every mom, especially after staying in Xiamen for so long and visiting many places. This time, we ventured a bit farther to Jimei for an immersive getaway.

Jimei offers plenty of fun activities: Jimei Fruit Paradise, Chengyi Science and Technology Exploration Center, the "Bug Returns to Earth" and Petrified Wood Garden at the Horticulture Expo Garden, Xiamen Library's Jimei Branch, and the Lingling International Circus City—all great spots for family outings. What’s more, these attractions are conveniently close to each other, making it ideal to book a hotel and enjoy a few days of immersive fun.

For this trip, we chose the Howard Johnson Jimei Lake Xiamen as our base—a perfect midpoint. The "Xiamen University-style" Jiageng architecture and the soothing lake views create a delightful atmosphere. On the first day, we recommend relaxing at the hotel. Take a dip in the heated pool, enjoy afternoon tea and drinks at the executive lounge, and unwind with "Happy Hour" after 5 PM. After dinner, take a leisurely stroll along the lakeside promenade outside the hotel—the gentle breeze makes for a perfect evening 😊.

On the second day, head to the Horticulture Expo Garden, which offers endless fun. Start by taking the ¥5 shuttle to the Petrified Wood Garden, then explore "Bug Returns to Earth," and finally, try kayaking at the Moonlight Ring Water Sports Center.
