Xiamen’s attractions are like a spilled jar of candy, leaving a sweet joy wherever you go~🥳
🏯Gulangyu Island・Melodies of the Piano Island
The ferry gently docks, bougainvillea climbs the red brick walls like a floral necklace for the old villas🎀 Dive into the alleys to find piano sounds, the melody of black and white keys blending with the waves. Around the corner, the old ice parlor smells of mango, scoop a spoonful of shaved ice, the coolness slides down your throat, even the cats sit at the door waiting to be fed. Sitting in Shuzhuang Garden watching the sea, the Forty-Four Bridges circle the seawater like a mirror, reflecting blue skies and white clouds, as if stepping into a fairy tale~
🌿Botanical Garden・The Green Wonderland
The rainforest area’s mist wraps the sunlight, traveler’s banana leaves hang like green curtains, walking in feels like stepping into clouds☁️ In the succulent area, cacti hold little yellow flowers, plump spheres squeezed together, can’t help but flash a peace sign when taking photos, their shadows look like playing Jenga. By the lake, a black swan suddenly dives into the water, grabs a lotus leaf as a hat, making children clap and laugh, startling a flock of egrets to skim over the water~
🌸Nanputuo Temple・Zen Charm of Red Walls
Yellow tiles and red walls hidden among banyan trees, the scent of incense mixed with magnolia is super healing. The vegetarian restaurant’s taro paste is as fluffy as clouds, a bite so sweet it makes your tongue tremble🍠 The red wall and bamboo shadows make a natural backdrop, wearing light-colored dresses for photos, the hem and light play hide and seek, even passing grandmas smile and say “Shui o” (so beautiful). Turning into a small alley, the old bookstore’s wooden door creaks “squeak,” old postcards stamped with postmarks from ten years ago~
🎨Shapowei・Wave of Art and Culture
Old factory walls covered with colorful vines and graffiti, handmade vendors shaking shell earrings. Sitting in a container café, watching fishing boats pass the shelter, ripples like silver ribbons tied on the sea🎨 The owner of a cultural shop teaches how to draw Minnan dialect comics, the word “joy” is drawn as a smiling face, super healing. Evening oyster omelet stalls emit aroma, the uncle flips the omelet with a spatula, egg wrapped oysters gleam golden, paired with a bowl of iced four-fruit soup, cool and refreshing to cut the grease~
🍧Sweet Treats on the Tongue
✔️Gulangyu’s shark ball soup, chewy and bursting with fresh juice that makes you lick the bowl clean
✔️Nanputuo’s vegetarian cake, green bean paste filling so sweet it makes you smile shyly
✔️Shapowei’s wheel cakes, taro paste lava so hot it makes you stick out your tongue
💡Roaming Tips
Wear light-colored clothes, super photogenic with bougainvillea and red walls~ Bring a small umbrella, shade on sunny days and shield from drizzle on rainy days. Pack a canvas bag in your backpack to hold the cakes you buy and your happiness~
Xiamen’s attractions balance romance just right, from morning light to starry night, every step is sweet. Come and fill your pockets with joy~💖
