Xiamen… remember this beach is insanely beautiful

Who gets it, fam! Huangcuo Beach in Xiamen is so stunning it leaves you speechless🌊 I've put together a super complete travel guide, follow it and you definitely won’t go wrong~

🌅 Basic info first

- Address: Huandao South Road, Siming District, Xiamen (follow the navigation, it’s super accurate!)
- Admission: Free! Free! Free! (Important things said three times💰)
- Opening hours: Open all year round, anytime~ no one stops you from watching the sunrise at dawn hhh

🚗 How to get there?

- Bus: Take routes 29 or 751 to "Huangcuo Seaside" stop, just a few steps to the beach🚌 Great value for money
- Taxi: Costs a few dozen yuan from downtown, carpooling with friends is super cost-effective! Especially after a tiring night out, a taxi ride instantly refreshes you🚕
- Self-drive: There’s a parking lot but it’s super crowded in peak season! Last weekend I circled three times before finding a spot🅿️ Recommend arriving early

🏡 Where to stay conveniently?

- Star hotels: Highly recommend Haiyue Mountain Villa! A 10-minute walk to the beach, the pool faces the sea🏊‍♀️ Expensive but worth it
- Unique homestays: The seaside inn I stayed at was amazing! Open the window and it’s the vast blue sea🌊 Only costs a bit over 200 yuan, and the owner even provides tide-pooling tools~

📸 Must-do activities list

- Watch the sunrise: Getting up at 5 AM is totally worth it! The moment the orange-red sun jumps out of the sea horizon, everyone goes wow🌞 Check the time in advance with the “Tianwen Tong” app, don’t make my mistake of remembering wrong and missing half of it
- Photo check-in: The seaside bus is vintage red, paired with blue sky it’s a perfect shot🚌 The “Lonely Tree” is best photographed in the morning when it’s less crowded and the light is soft~ The flower wall not at the bookstore entrance is also super pretty, swinging on the swing and snapping photos creates a great vibe!
- Water activities: The sea water is much cleaner than Zengcuoan! Rent snorkeling gear to see little fish🐠 If you can’t swim, riding a jet ski is also super fun
- Tide pooling: After the tide goes out, the beach is full of little crabs! Bring a small shovel and you won’t want to stop digging🦀 Remember to wear non-slip shoes, or you might fall on your butt like I did

🍤 Foodie must-tries

- Seafood feast: The grilled oysters at “Gan Chai Lie Huo” are amazing! Shucked and grilled fresh, drizzled with garlic sauce that makes you stomp your feet🦪 The spicy crab is also super flavorful, perfect with ice-cold beer
- Local snacks: Satay noodles must have fish balls added! I was hesitant to try the tubeworm jelly at first, but one bite and I was hooked🤤 Four-fruit soup with grass jelly and taro balls is refreshing and perfect for cooling down~

Summary: Huangcuo Beach has fewer people than Gulangyu, more beautiful scenery than Baicheng, it’s truly a hidden gem in Xiamen! I’ve been three times and still want to go again🌊 Quickly your travel buddy and go!
