Shaoguan, Guangdong | Visit Yunji Mountain Ancient Town

✅Ancient town charm: Hakka enclosed houses, a cluster of over 30 restored Ming and Qing Dynasty Huizhou-style ancient houses, and streets paved with black tiles and stone slabs.

✅Summit Yunji Mountain: The main peak is 1,438 meters above sea level. In autumn (November-December), the mountain is ablaze with maple leaves. Along the hiking trail, you can see "Fairy Lake" and "Flowing Cloud Waterfall".

✅There are over 30 ancient sweetgum trees in the town, and in late autumn, the red leaves contrast beautifully with the white walls and black tiles.

🚌Public transportation: Take a bus from Shaoguan Bus Station to Xinfeng Bus Station (1.5 hours), transfer to Xinfeng Bus No. 3 to Yunji Mountain intersection (20 minutes), and then take a taxi for about CNY 10 to the scenic area.

📌Tips
Arrive before 9am during the red leaf season to avoid crowds. Mountain climbing takes 3-4 hours. Bring hiking poles and a light jacket.

🍜Try Hakka Lei Cha (pounded tea) and Ciba (glutinous rice cake) in the ancient town. We recommend buying dried Xinfeng Buddha's hand melon as a souvenir.
