Qingyuan Hidden Gem! Yuelan·Muyi Mountain Residence Turns Rustic Romance into Home

After searching through numerous homestays in Qingyuan, we finally discovered this treasure that feels like "living inside a painting"! Yuelan·Muyi Mountain Residence is tucked away in the folds of the mountains. The moment you open the courtyard gate, all the city anxieties are swept away by the mountain breeze, and even your breath feels sweeter.

Wake up to a healing mountain wilderness
Who would have thought! The room’s balcony faces layers of green mountains. In the early morning, when awakened by birdsong, the mist still lingers on the mountain tops, as if you’ve stepped into an ink painting. The host is great at design, bringing "nature" into every corner—the lobby features a solid wood long table paired with rattan lamps, the guest room walls are decorated with diatom mud and hand-painted forest patterns, and even the washbasin is embedded with pebbles. Walking barefoot on the wooden floor feels more relaxing than at home.

The "Listening to Pines" terrace room we stayed in was amazing! The 20m² large terrace is furnished with rattan lounge chairs and a small tea table. In the afternoon, brewing a pot of local Yingde black tea while watching the mountain breeze sway the bamboo sea makes even daydreaming a pleasure. My best friend stayed in the "Stream View" family room, which was even more thoughtful, with a small tent and a picture book corner. Her kid actually put down the tablet and squatted by the window watching squirrels!

Convenient and affordable dining
No need to hunt for restaurants, which is so hassle-free! The homestay has its own restaurant, serving dishes made from vegetables grown by the owner’s family and free-range chickens raised on-site, freshly cooked to order. We ordered steamed fish, stir-fried seasonal vegetables, and chicken soup. The three of us ate until full and spent just over 100 yuan, much cheaper than in scenic spots.

Breakfast is free in the morning, with plain porridge, eggs, steamed buns, and side dishes—simple but filling. If you don’t want to get up early, you can ask the owner to deliver it to your room later, which is very flexible.

Super convenient for nearby exploring and eating
If you don’t want to go far, you can take a walk right outside the homestay. There’s a small trail on the back mountain; a 10-minute walk to the summit offers views of the entire village, perfect for photos.

A 10-minute drive takes you to a small market where you can buy local farm eggs and honey. I bought a bottle of lychee honey for only 30 yuan, much purer than supermarket brands. The nearest scenic spot is just a 20-minute drive away. After playing, you can rest at the homestay, which feels much more comfortable than staying inside the scenic area.

Highly recommended for friends looking for a place to relax. No need for complicated planning—just stay here, eat well, sleep well, and quietly enjoy two days of comfort~

Transportation: Self-driving is recommended, about 2.5 hours from Guangzhou/Foshan. Tips: Weekends are busy, so it’s best to book 3 days in advance. If you want a room with a view, remember to tell the owner.
