Bayinbuluke, I didn’t see the nine suns

After visiting Sayram Lake, seeing the Guozigou Bridge, and enjoying Nalati, arriving at Bayinbuluke is a completely different feeling!! It’s truly magnificent!!

This is the place closest to the sun. Although I didn’t see the nine suns, I encountered an even more magical grassland. Bayinbuluke’s winding rivers and other grassland scenery are very different. The whole area is vast and open, with rivers meandering through the grassland. That moment was visually striking. Although it was cloudy when I arrived, it was still beautiful.

The entire scenic area is divided into three parts. The first is Swan Lake, where you can see swans and birds that sometimes fly so low you can interact with them by reaching out; the second is Barun Temple, which is quite small, just a temple quietly standing on the vast grassland, with people burning incense inside; the third is the winding rivers. When we arrived, it was raining and very cold! To see the nine suns, you really need to stake out in advance and also pay attention to the sunset time, which in June is around 9:30 PM.

🌿Grassland Survival Guide
In Bayinbuluke town, wild mushroom soup rice and wild mushroom mixed noodles are everywhere, costing about 30 to 40 yuan per bowl. Although a bit pricey, they are very delicious. It is said that Bayinbuluke’s wild mushrooms have a “national agricultural product geographical indication” and can only be handpicked, with a freshness comparable to matsutake mushrooms.
The hand-pulled meat and salty milk tea here are also very tasty, and the yak meat stew is very tender.

🚗 Self-driving Bonus: The “Blind Box” Romance of Duku Highway
Starting from Dushanzi, you travel through snow-capped mountains, canyons, and forests, and finally at Bayinbuluke, the view suddenly opens up—the grassland comes like green waves, the winding rivers look like a rough signature on the earth, and Swan Lake is a sapphire left behind by God. 💡Road condition reminder: Duku Highway is only open from May to October and is often closed due to weather, so be sure to check real-time road conditions before setting off!

🌿Bayinbuluke is grassland, mythology, the epic of nomadic peoples, and a “spiritual oxygen bottle” for every city dweller escaping the rat race. Every breeze here whispers: “Life is not just 9 to 9 to 6, there are grasslands, horseback riding, and nine suns.”
