Longyangxia Family Outing Guide｜A Hidden Gem for an Amazing One-Day Trip!

Longyangxia is such a delightful surprise, with the clear waters and green mountains upstream of the Mother River—perfect for bringing kids to experience the beauty of nature! We've already planned to visit for the third time~

It's just a 2-hour drive from Xining, with scenic views all along the way. We recommend setting off early and playing some favorite children's songs in the car to make the time fly.

🌿First Stop: Longyangxia Grand Canyon

The grand canyon is magnificent and is known as the "Colorado of China." Kids get excited and run around as soon as they arrive.

The area with the large prayer flags is great for photos—be sure to take plenty of parent-child pictures!

Next, rest at the Cliffside Café. We've stayed here before; the morning mist is stunning. If you catch the flood discharge, the rushing water scene amazes even adults!

🌿Second Stop: Longyang Lake Park

For lunch, we recommend Time Café. The salmon is fresh and the environment is great; the kids were super happy eating there. It's just a 2-minute walk to the park, seamlessly continuing the family outing~

Longyang Lake Park now has a small zoo and a children's playground, perfect for half a day of fun. Kids feeding the animals and sliding down the slides—they simply don’t want to leave.

For accommodation, you can choose Hongliu Manor. The lake-view rooms offer wide-open views, plus camping and swings. At night, feeling the breeze while stargazing is so healing.

🌿Third Stop: Earth Forest Geological Park

Taking kids to see the Earth Forest is like stepping into a geology textbook. Mushroom-shaped rock formations and ancient landscapes make learning fun, with kids asking questions one after another~
