Xunxian Ancient City

‌‌Xunxian Ancient City is the only county-level national historical and cultural city in Henan Province, with rich historical and cultural heritage and famous historical sites.‌‌12

Xunxian is located in the northern part of Henan Province, under the jurisdiction of ‌Hebi City, at the eastern foot of the Taihang Mountains, and the southern part of the North China Plain. The history here is long and the culture is brilliant. As early as 6,000 years ago, the primitive ancestors had thrived here. Xunxian was formerly known as Liyang. During the reign of Emperor Gaozu of the Western Han Dynasty, Liyang County was established, and it has a history of more than 2,200 years. In 1994, Xunxian was announced by the State Council as a national historical and cultural city, and it is the only county town among the seven national historical and cultural cities in Henan Province.
