Transportation Guide
• To the port: You can choose to drive yourself and follow the navigation to reach the destination. You can also take a taxi if departing from Xuwen County.
• Ferry destinations: Haian New Port is one of the important ports to Hainan Island, with routes connecting to ports such as Haikou New Port.
Ticket Information
• Ticket purchase methods: Tickets can be bought online through WeChat public accounts like "Qiongzhou Strait Ferry Butler" or related travel platforms, or at the port ticket window.
• Ticket prices: Adult tickets are generally around 41.5 RMB, children 1.2-1.5 meters tall pay half price, and children under 1.2 meters ride free. Tickets for small cars with seven seats or fewer cost about 374 RMB (including the driver’s ticket). Actual prices are subject to change.
• Schedule: Multiple ferry departures daily, usually the earliest around 7:00 AM. It is recommended to check the specific schedule in advance and plan your trip accordingly.
Boarding Process
• Drivers arriving by car should enter the reserved lane according to road signs, collect tickets from the gate machine, then drive to the designated spot. Drivers separate from passengers, drive the car onto the ferry, park, and enter the passenger cabin via the nearby stairs.
• Passengers get off the car and collect their tickets using their ID cards at the self-service machine. After security check, follow the signs to the designated waiting area at the berth, queue up when the announcement is made, and board the ferry.
Port Facilities
• Dining: There is a fast-food restaurant in the waiting hall offering dishes like sea duck egg fried rice at reasonable prices.
• Charging: The port has charging stations for new energy vehicles for convenient charging.
• Rest area: The waiting hall has general rest areas and places like a book bar for passengers to relax and entertain themselves.
Ferry Experience
• The ferry has passenger cabins, a café, and a supermarket. The passenger cabin is a public area with many seats. The café requires purchase to enter and rest.
• During the voyage, you can go to the deck to enjoy the scenery of the Qiongzhou Strait. On clear days, you can see beautiful sea sunsets. The starboard side of the second deck is a great spot for photos.
Disembarking Process
• After docking, the driver will first retrieve the car and drive it off, while passengers disembark through the cabin exit.
• Passengers follow signs to the car and passenger reunion point, usually on the second floor of the parking building, which can be found by following passage signs such as Mango or Coconut.
Nearby Attractions
• Dahan Sandun Tourist Area: Themed on the Han Dynasty Maritime Silk Road culture, visitors can enjoy beaches and volcanic rocks. Free admission, open 08:30-17:30.
• Xuwen Ancient Port Ruins: One of the starting points of the Maritime Silk Road, featuring ancient docks and lighthouses. Free admission, open 08:30-17:30.
• Nanjicun Village: Located at the southernmost tip of mainland China, it offers spectacular coastlines and fishing village charm, ideal for photography. Free admission, open all day.
Accommodation Recommendations
• Xi’an Hotel (Zhanjiang Xuwen Mulan Avenue Branch): Opened in February 2025, this is a new hotel with its own parking lot and charging stations, especially suitable for self-driving travelers. It offers various room types, including family suites (one bedroom, one living room, three beds), business king rooms, and goddess suites for couples. Prices are affordable with high cost performance. The hotel also has a breakfast restaurant, laundry room, and gym, with over 20 breakfast options. It is close to Xuwen No.1 Middle School Night Market and Dengyun Tower, about a 10-minute drive. It is also convenient for Haian New Port, only about 15 minutes by car. The hotel provides free shuttle service to the port. If you plan to rest or transfer in Xuwen, this hotel is a great choice.

• Ferry service may be suspended during typhoons; please follow updates from relevant public accounts.
• It is recommended to arrive at the port 1 hour in advance, and 2 hours in advance during major holidays to avoid delays.
• Signal on the ferry is weak; download shows or music in advance for entertainment.
• It can be windy on the deck; bring a light jacket and sun hat.
