Xuzhou | Pan'an Lake, an artificial lake transformed from a coal mine pit

🚗 Pan'an Lake is a contemporary artificial lake, located in Pan'an Lake Street, Jiawang District, Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province, located in the middle of Xuzhou main city and Jiawang city, about 18 kilometers away from both. There was no lake here originally, it was the coal mining subsidence area of Quan Tai Mine and Qi Shan Mine of Xu Mine Group. In March 2010, Jiawang District officially carried out the transformation of the coal mining subsidence area. The planned total area is 52.89 square kilometers, of which the core area is 16 square kilometers. The first phase of the project was fully completed, with an investment of 1.4 billion yuan, the total opening area reached 11 square kilometers, the water area was 9.21 square kilometers, 160,000 large trees were planted, 1 million square meters of flowers and plants, 980,000 square meters of aquatic plants, more than 300 varieties, and 19 wetland islands of various sizes.

The pit was broken and dusty, and it had nothing to do with beauty. 'Black, dirty, and messy' was its true face; muddy in rainy days and dusty in sunny days was the true portrayal of the life of the surrounding residents at that time.

🚗 After the transformation, the Pan'an Lake scenic area has planted 160,000 large trees, 1 million square meters of shrubs and ground cover, 980,000 square meters of aquatic plants, and completed 22 high-quality greening sections. There are 24 bridges, 12 piers, 12 parking lots, 11 kilometers of lakeside roads, 7 kilometers of walking paths, 10 kilometers of wooden plank roads and lakeside roads in the scenic area. It can be said that it is a very successful transformation project. Although the scenery is average, the significance is great, and everyone can go and see when they have time.
