If you love grandeur, don’t miss this place! Leshan Giant Buddha is located on the banks of the Leshan River in Sichuan Province, China. It is the world’s largest carved Buddha statue on a cliff!

The story goes that this statue was started in 713 AD during the Tang Dynasty and took over 90 years to complete. The purpose was not just for faith, but to “calm the rapids” of the three rivers that flowed together to make it safe for cargo ships at that time!

Must-know highlights: • Ears are over 7 meters long (bigger than a bus!) • There is an ancient drainage system inside the statue to help prevent erosion • It was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996

📍 The journey starts from Chengdu → Take the high-speed rail to Leshan Station for about 1 hour → Take a bus or taxi for 20-30 minutes to Leshan Giant Buddha Scenic Area
💰 Entrance fee • Entrance fee: about 80 yuan (about 400 baht) • If you want to take a boat to see the view from a distance, add another 70-80 yuan (recommended if you want a full view from the river!)
