This hotel is a must-stay in Xuzhou, great value for money!

My last stop on my Sheraton tour was Xuzhou, so I decided to visit. The last time I came back was for the 100th anniversary of China University of Mining and Technology. Xuzhou has changed a lot, and there is a lot of traffic. I'm glad to see my second hometown is getting better and better.

The hotel is not close to Xuzhou East or Xuzhou Railway Station. The nearest subway station is China University of Mining and Technology Wenchang. I hailed a taxi and it cost me CNY 20 to get here via the Third Ring Road. If you come from downtown, you will pass by Xuzhou Marriott Hotel on the banks of Yunlong Lake. There are many people downstairs, but Sheraton is very quiet in comparison. It is surrounded by residential areas. There is a new shopping mall across the road, and it is also very close to the Nanhu Campus of China University of Mining and Technology.

Service: I received a call the day before check-in asking if I had any requests or preferences. I have stayed at 15 hotels before, including Fairfield, Renaissance, Marriott, and Courtyard, but this is the first time I have received such a call. I don't have many requests, just more water for tea.

When I arrived, the staff helped me with my luggage, took it to the front desk, and then to my room. I said it was the first time I had experienced this, and the staff replied that it was their job and they should do it! Great service.

The front desk upgraded my room to an executive room. It should be just below a suite, which was a nice surprise. Room upgrades are a nice bonus for solo travelers like me. Better rooms always cost more money. It makes guests feel at home.

When I returned in the evening, I was given fruit and turndown service. It was a nice touch.

I didn't take any photos of breakfast, but there was a wide variety of food. There were Xuzhou specialties, such as pancakes, fried dough twists, and soup. It was delicious.

The newly renovated room had a faint smell, but it was not noticeable. The leather-wrapped bed had a slight smell, but it was not noticeable.

My Sheraton tour ended this year, and it was a very pleasant experience. I hope the hotel can maintain this standard. The inconvenience of transportation can be completely ignored.

I went downtown and vaguely remembered the directions. The restaurants I used to eat at are still there, such as Lao Zheng Roujin, Xiaoxiao Liangpi, and Gao Jie. After more than ten years, these restaurants are still open and will probably remain open. Haiyun, Golden Eagle, Jindi, and Carrefour are still there. The subway is open, Suning is open, and Deji is under construction.
The youth in my memory is always so dazzling.
