⛩ Origin of Name: "Ishiwari Shrine and the Broken Megalith"
・Midway up Mt. Ishiwari, you'll find the "Ishiwari Shrine," from which the name is derived. The shrine's sacred object, a gigantic broken rock (Goseki), is extremely famous.
・Passing through the crack is said to ward off evil and improve fortune, so many visitors combine hiking with worship.
🌄 Scenery & Attractions
・The views from the summit are spectacular, especially the panoramic views of Mt. Fuji.
・A great vantage point offering panoramic views of Lake Yamanaka, the Tanzawa Mountains, and the Hakone Mountain Range.
・On clear days, you can enjoy panoramic views and take photos with Mt. Fuji in the background. 📸
🚗 Access
・Car: Approximately 15 minutes from Yamanakako IC on the Chuo Expressway
・Public Transportation: Take the Fujikyuko bus to Ishiwari Shrine Entrance, then walk about 5 minutes to the trailhead.
📝 Other Points
・Toilets are available at the trailhead (none at the summit).
・There are no vending machines or shops along the trail. Bring your own water and food.
・Bear bells and insect repellent are also recommended.
・Snow and ice accumulate in winter. Light crampons may be required.
