Huangyangjie is located 17 kilometers northwest of Ciping. It is a scenic spot that combines cultural and natural landscapes.

Huangyangjie Peak is 1,343 meters above sea level. The area is characterized by numerous peaks and steep terrain, and a variety of weather conditions. It is often filled with vast clouds and mist, resembling an endless ocean, hence the name "Wangyangjie". The Huangyangjie Scenic Area includes Huangyangjie, Dajing, Bamianshan, and Shangjing.

On August 30, 1928, the famous Battle of Huangyangjie took place here. Remnants of the original sentry posts, Red Army barracks, and the path Mao Zedong, Zhu De, and Red Army soldiers took carrying grain from Ninggang, along with the lotus trees along the roadside, still remain. Huangyangjie, a ten-mile stretch of mountains, is a majestic and precipitous expanse stretching as far as the eye can see. In May 1965, Mao Zedong wrote in his poem "Water Melody: Re-ascending Jinggang Mountain," "After crossing Huangyangjie, there's no need to look further for dangerous places." Here, visitors can also witness natural wonders such as sunrises, peaks, seas of clouds, and rhododendrons.

The wonder of Buddha's light

A mysterious natural phenomenon, Buddha's Light, has appeared repeatedly. Around 7:40 a.m. on April 10, 1983, meteorologists near the Huangyangjie Meteorological Observatory observed a red halo with a purple interior. The halo passed through dense clouds, reflecting human figures within it. When a person moved, the halo moved, and when a person jumped, their shadow jumped as well.

Huangyangjie Sentry Post Fortifications

The Huangyangjie Sentry Fortifications were built in the summer of 1928 and consisted of three fortifications and a lookout post. On August 30, 1928, the famous Battle of Huangyangjie took place here. At that time, the Red Army, with less than a battalion of troops, repelled the attack of four enemy regiments and defended Jinggangshan.

Sentry Barracks

This was the barracks of the Fourth Red Army at the Huangyangjie Sentry Post. A nine-room, five-story building constructed of cedar bark and earthenware, it covered an area of ​​over 200 square meters. It was built in the summer of 1928. It burned down after the Huangyangjie Sentry Post fell in 1929. It was rebuilt by the local government in 1964.
