Destination: The Hydrangea Garden at Yata-dera—often called Ajisai-dera—is one of Nara’s top seasonal spots, blooming beautifully each year from early June to early July. Over 10,000 hydrangea bushes of 60+ varieties paint the hillside temple paths in soft blues, purples, pinks, and whites. The contrast of vibrant blooms with stone Jizō statues and moss-covered steps creates a peaceful, photogenic atmosphere.
Rough Budget: Entry is ¥500 during peak season, with local bus fare from Kintetsu Koriyama Station around ¥300–¥400. Total cost: under ¥1,000.
#1 Travel Hack: Go early in the morning on weekdays to avoid crowds and get the best light for photography—especially after rain when the petals shine brightest.
