4 people, 5 days, 4 nights budget travel guide in Guilin! Only 850 per person, stay in a river view room + free Li River tour, eat until full on West Street in Yangshuo

Who says "Guilin's scenery is the best under heaven" has to cost a fortune? The four of us college students explored Guilin + Yangshuo for 5 days and 4 nights, spending a total of 3,380 RMB, averaging only 845 RMB per person. We stayed at a guesthouse by the Yulong River, enjoyed free bamboo raft rides, cycled the Ten-Mile Gallery, and even cleverly avoided the 200 RMB Li River cruise boat, saving money while still getting great photos!

📅 Itinerary: Slow travel + high cost-performance food, accommodation, and transportation

🚄 Transportation: Round-trip high-speed train (second class seat average 180 RMB/person × 4 = 720 RMB)
🚌 Within the city, rely on buses + shared bikes; in Yangshuo rent an electric scooter for 20 RMB/day, total 80 RMB for four days

🏡 Accommodation:
Stay 2 nights in a youth hostel in Guilin, dorm bed 160 RMB (40 RMB per person)
Stay 2 nights at a farmhouse guesthouse by the Yulong River in Yangshuo, triple room + extra bed total 520 RMB (130 RMB per person)

📍D1: Arrive in Guilin, stay in a youth hostel, free check-in at the outer area of Elephant Trunk Hill Park + Two Rivers and Four Lakes night view, night stroll at Dongxi Alley Snack Street: rice noodles, oil tea, glutinous rice cake, 4 people ate until full for only 138 RMB
📍D2: Take the bus to Seven Star Park, student ticket half price 17 RMB, in the afternoon take a boat to "hitch a ride" on the essence section of the Li River — take the Guilin → Yangshuo ferry (operated by local fishermen, ticket 30 RMB/person, not a tourist boat but the scenery is just as beautiful!)
📍D3-4: Yangshuo walking mode! Cycle the Ten-Mile Gallery → check in at the popular swing for photos → explore Fuli Bridge and the deserted rice fields → evening soak in West Street, eat small portion of beer fish (shared by four for only 98 RMB), watch "Impression Liu Sanjie" with optional back-row tickets or listen for free
📍D5: Before returning, visit Xingping Ancient Town to take photos with the 20 RMB RMB note background, free entry by walking, take the shuttle bus back to Guilin
