Love Hometown Taihang Water Town | Slow Time in the Blue Brick Fireworks

#SeptemberGoodPlaces2025

When I first arrived at Taihang Water Town, my pace involuntarily slowed. The dark blue bricks and tiles reflected the setting sun, and the stream beneath the stone bridge gently lapped against the shore, like an ancient melody softly sung by the wind. The faint aroma of wheat and tea wafted from the shops along the street. Veteran artisans meticulously crafted their craft, each stitch imbued with the warmth of time. Sitting in a waterside teahouse, watching children chase white doves, I felt as if I had stumbled back in time to the simpler days of the countryside. Here, there's no rush of the city, only a leisurely painting of mountain breezes and laughter.

At night, the water town becomes even more poetic. Thousands of lanterns reflected on the water, like stars falling into the world. From the end of the cobblestone path, the sound of ancient music drifted, transforming into a silent dream with graceful dance steps. Slightly tipsy over a glass of local wine, I finally understood the deeper meaning of "homesickness"—not an obsession with a particular place, but a yearning to return to the tenderness deep within our hearts, a desire to linger again and again.
