Lizhuang is an old town (state‑level historic town) in Cuiping District, Yibin City, Sichuan Province, China. It lies about 19 km from downtown Yibin, on the southern bank of the Yangtze River.
It has a long history (over 1,400‑1,500 years).
Lizhuang is famous for several cultural roles:
1. Preserved Ming & Qing dynasty architecture — ancient temples, ancestral halls, old streets, well‑preserved layout.
2. Its wartime history: during the Second Sino‑Japanese War (1937‑1945), many universities and research institutions relocated here; it served as an “academic refuge.”
