Help! Two days in Yichang with kids is simply not enough

When I was a child reading Li Bai’s poems, I only found them catchy, but after bringing my kids to Yichang, I truly understood the romance of “The monkeys on both banks keep crying out.” If parents in Wuhan want to take their kids on a short trip, Yichang in Hubei is definitely worth adding to the list~

✔️ 2 Days 1 Night Family Travel Itinerary

Day 1: Huangbai River Pier → Three Gorges Family → Taiji Cat Cave → Longjin Creek → Monkey Mountain
Arrive in Yichang with the kids a day early and stay overnight. Be sure to get to Huangbai River Pier before 9 AM the next day to take a cruise to Three Gorges Family, which is super convenient. The kids can enjoy the river views on the boat to pass the time~ Alternatively, you can drive 🚗 to Wangjiaping Visitor Center and walk toward Longjin Creek. Along the way, there are many folk performances that captivate the kids and teach them little facts~

Day 2: Three Gorges Visitor Center → Take a Cruise → Pass Xiling Gorge → Scenic Route along G348
On the second day, take the kids to the Three Gorges Visitor Center to board a cruise and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Three Gorges from the boat! The day we went, it had just rained, and the misty view looked like a landscape painting. The kids kept sharing with me, “Mom, does that mountain look like a little animal?” On the boat, the kids can also experience the concept of “the boat rises with the water,” which is both intuitive and fun!
In the afternoon, drive along the G348 route, following the path from Gangouzi Bridge → Liantuopan Bridge → Xintan Ferry. There are parking lots and restrooms along the way, so no worries when traveling with kids. There are also designated photo spots, perfect for taking beautiful family pictures~

✔️ Must-Try Family Foods
Be sure to take the kids to the CBD Night Market Street and Jiefang Road Night Market! The bustling snack streets, just a few dozen meters long, offer delicious treats like radish dumplings, spicy noodles, and spicy buns. Trying a bit of everything with the kids is super satisfying~ But keep in mind, Yichang’s flavors tend to be spicy, similar to Chongqing’s style. If your kids can’t handle spice, be sure to ask the vendor to use less chili~

✔️ Family-Friendly Spots in Yichang City
There are many great places to stroll with kids in the city! The Canal Park in autumn looks like an oil painting, perfect for a relaxing walk with the kids; the Yangtze River Dolphin Park has swings by the river that the kids love; the night view at Binjiang Park is stunning. When Mojishan lights up, the whole night scene is incredibly soothing—definitely worth it to bring the kids to see!
