Lanyang Museum: Where the Ocean Meets Nature

The ocean and nature exhibit at Lanyang Museum is my favorite floor. Stepping into this level feels like arriving at the edge of the Lanyang Plain, where a vast ocean and the cradle of life unfold before your eyes.

Through realistic displays and interactive installations, the exhibit showcases the Kuroshio Current along Yilan's coast, the rich intertidal zone ecosystem, and the daily lives of people closely tied to the fishing industry. I particularly love the display wall designed to mimic the rocky shores of the intertidal zone, featuring hermit crabs, sea snails, and oysters. It’s so vivid that you can almost smell the salty sea breeze.

In the "People and the Sea" section, the wisdom of fixed-net fishing and traditional fishing methods is highlighted. From Turtle Island to the daily life of fishing ports, this is not just a natural exhibition but a profound dialogue between culture and the environment.

📍 Check-in Spot: Lanyang Museum 2F Ocean Exhibit (No. 750, Section 3, Qingyun Road, Toucheng Township, Yilan County)
