The first time I saw Lanyang Museum, it reminded me of an inverted stone book. Nestled quietly in the coastal wetlands of Toucheng, Yilan, its unique slanted exterior seems to rise from the earth's crust, symbolizing the origins of Lanyang's landscape. From the museum's exterior, you can gaze out at the distant ocean and spot the mysterious and elegant Turtle Island.
Inside the museum, layers of exhibits showcase the mountains, seas, culture, and history of the Lanyang Plain. From the culture of the Kavalan people to the development of Yilan's fishing industry, each story feels like stepping into the memory of the land. Children enjoy themselves in the interactive zones, while adults relax and take in the views at the seaside café. The museum offers something for everyone in the family.
Whether it's sunny or rainy, visiting Lanyang Museum always brings new discoveries. Explore the exhibitions, admire the scenery, and feel the deep connection Yilan residents have with their land.
📍Location: Lanyang Museum (No. 750, Section 3, Qingyun Road, Toucheng Township, Yilan County)
