Located in Taipingshan, Yilan, Cuifeng Lake is Taiwan's largest alpine lake, sitting at an altitude of approximately 1,850 meters. The lake, shaped like a gourd, is shrouded in mist year-round, creating a dreamy and ethereal atmosphere. It is often referred to as the 'Maiden in the Mist.' During the full water season, the lake's deep blue hue earns it the nickname 'Sapphire of the Mountains.' 💎
The trail around the lake spans about 4 kilometers and was converted from an old logging railway. A portion of it has been certified as the world's first 'Quiet Trail.' 🌳
The path is surrounded by lush greenery, with reflections of the lake creating a serene and enchanting scene. For those with sufficient stamina, you can continue to the Wangyang Mountain Viewing Platform, where you can enjoy stunning views of the sunrise and sea of clouds. On clear days, you can even see Taipingshan and the Xueshan Mountain Range in the distance. ⛰️
Cuifeng Lake is beautiful in all seasons—spring's greenery, summer's mist, autumn's red leaves, and winter's snow each offer unique charm. 🍁
It is recommended to visit in the early morning or during the full water season in autumn to best experience the dreamy interplay of mist and lake colors. ☁️
