Nikka Whisky Distillery
is
Japan's first whiskey distillery.
Founder Masataka Taketsuru
established it in Yoichi, Hokkaido, in 1934 after studying in Scotland.
It currently operates in two locations: Yoichi and Miyagikyo, Sendai.
Visitors can tour the whiskey production process and enjoy tastings,
and also see cultural assets like the founder's residence and Rita House.
