[Yokohama] Bashamichi Shopping Street, a historic town

Yokohama flourished as an international trading hub when Japan opened its doors to the world. There are many areas dotted around the city that exude history. Bashamichi Shopping Street is one of them. It is said that this street got its name from the many horse-drawn carriages that passed through here when trade with foreign countries was established. Perhaps influenced by the name, it was impressive to see carriage and horse designs remaining here and there. Inside the shopping street, there are atmospheric shops, restaurants, and halls.

At the end of Bashamichi Shopping Street, you will find Isezaki Mall.
