I walked from Bashamichi Station to go to Yamashita Park.
As I headed towards the port, the Yokohama Port Opening Memorial Hall came into view with its quaint appearance.
Completed in 1917, it was burned down in the Great Kanto Earthquake and requisitioned by the US military after the war, and in 1989 it became a national important cultural property. Since the Heisei era, it has undergone several repairs and restorations, and in 2024 it was restored and reopened to use after being cleaned up. It seems worth a visit.
Yamashita Park, which overlooks the port, is a very photogenic spot with sunflowers in full bloom.
The pleasant grass makes you forget the harshness of the midsummer climate for a moment, and the refreshing scenery is highly recommended.
