🎉 2025 Chinese New Year Countdown and Events

🕛 Chinese New Year Countdown (January 28, 2025)
• Date and Time: Around midnight on Tuesday, January 28, 2025
• Location: Yamashitacho Park (inside Yokohama Chinatown)
• Content: Welcome the New Year in style with traditional Chinese performances, including lion and dragon dances, firecrackers, and drumming. 

🐉 Chinese New Year Festival (January 29th - February 12th, 2025)
• Event Period: Wednesday, January 29th - Wednesday, February 12th, 2025
• Main Events:
• Chinese New Year Entertainment Performances: Traditional performing arts such as lion dances, dragon dances, Chinese dance, and Chinese acrobatics will be shown at Yamashitacho Park on Saturday, February 1st and Sunday, February 2nd.
• Street Entertainment Performances: Surprise traditional dance performances will be held throughout Chinatown on Saturday, February 8th and Sunday, February 9th.
• Celebration Dance Procession: A celebratory procession featuring colorful costumes will be held through Chinatown on Tuesday, February 11th (national holiday).    

🏮 Chinese New Year Lanterns (Illuminations)
• Event Period: Wednesday, January 29, 2025 - Wednesday, February 12, 2025
• Event Details: The entire Yokohama Chinatown area will be illuminated with red lanterns, creating a magical atmosphere. 



🧧 2026 Chinese New Year Lantern Lighting Ceremony
• Event Date: Saturday, November 1, 2025
• Event Location: Yokohama Chinatown Boulevard
• Event Details: In preparation for the Chinese New Year, the main street of Yokohama Chinatown will be decorated with gorgeous lanterns, and a lighting ceremony will be held.

A variety of events will be held to celebrate the Chinese New Year in Yokohama Chinatown. Visitors will be captivated by lion and dragon dances, traditional performing arts performances, and spectacular parades. The illuminations and lantern decorations are also a highlight. We're looking forward to the Chinese New Year lantern lighting ceremony in 2026.
