【Kanagawa/Tsurumi】MORIUM: A New Yet Nostalgic Morinaga Museum

The Morinaga Angel Museum MORIUM is an interactive museum located within the Morinaga Confectionery Tsurumi Factory. It offers visitors the chance to explore over 120 years of Morinaga's history and uncover the "secrets of deliciousness." The name "MORIUM" combines "MORINAGA" with the Latin word "ARIUM," meaning "place," making it truly "Morinaga's place"—a paradise for candy lovers. ✨

The museum's biggest appeal lies in its combination of exhibits that stimulate "intellectual curiosity" and "nostalgia," along with factory tours.

The experience begins with a theater featuring a massive 3m x 15m screen, showcasing the founder's vision, Morinaga's history, and the dedication behind its products through captivating visuals. Next, the exhibit area offers insights into iconic products like "Milk Caramel," "Hi-Chew," and "Choco Monaka Jumbo." Visitors can learn about their unique features and production techniques through large-scale models, historical packaging, and rare items like the "Golden Angel," all accompanied by engaging explanations from attendants.

One highlight is the display of over 500 varieties of Hi-Chew created over the years, as well as nostalgic exhibits of "Toy Cans," which evoke fond memories for adults. 🤍

Adjacent to the museum, the Tsurumi Factory allows visitors to observe the production and packaging lines of popular treats like "Koeda" and "Hi-Chew Premium" through glass windows. Witnessing the creation of everyday sweets up close, surrounded by their sweet aroma, is a unique experience for both adults and children.

At the end of the tour, visitors can enjoy seasonal product tastings, including freshly made "Choco Monaka Jumbo." The museum shop offers exclusive items like local Hi-Chew flavors and MORIUM-original merchandise, making souvenir shopping a delight. The futuristic, white-themed space also features photo spots with Kyoro-chan, making it a perfect destination for families and friends to immerse themselves in Morinaga's new yet nostalgic world.
