We took a day trip from the Kanto region to Sarushima Island. 🚗 The weather was beautiful, perfect for a short trip!
We left a little early in the morning. Once we passed under the Aqua Line, Yokosuka suddenly felt close. Just driving with the ocean beside us made us feel like we were on a little trip.
🛳️The boat to Sarushima Island
Sarushima Island is about a 10-minute boat ride from Mikasa Pier, just off the coast of Yokosuka.
The sea breeze felt refreshing as we boarded the boat, and it was exciting to watch Sarushima unfold before our eyes as it gradually got closer.
🌳Exploring a deserted island!
When we landed, it felt like we'd wandered into a movie or game setting.
Walking through the brick tunnels, moss-covered stone walls, and greenery-filled paths of the former fortress gave me the uncanny feeling of having traveled back in time.
From the island's observation point, we could see a panoramic view of Tokyo Bay and, in the distance, Chiba's Boso Peninsula.
🍔A treat on the way back
After enjoying the island, head to Honey Bee, a Yokosuka must-visit!
This restaurant has a very American atmosphere, and I ordered their famous Yokosuka Navy Burger.
A large patty topped with crisp lettuce and juicy tomato.
The bun was fragrant, and the meat juices oozed out as I bit into it. It was the perfect treat to end a drive! ✨
