The "Yomitan Village History and Folklore Museum" allows visitors to explore both a World Heritage Site and an art museum. It showcases Okinawa's history, the lives of people before and after the war, and provides various insights into the nature, culture, and history of the Yomitan area. It offers a glimpse into the daily lives of Okinawan people, making it a museum rich in local flavor.
The museum spans three floors, with exhibition rooms on the first to third floors and an art gallery on the third floor. Admission is ¥500. Adjacent to the museum is the Zakimi Castle Ruins, a historic structure over 600 years old, which is freely accessible. Situated on a small hill, the location offers excellent views, including a breathtaking panorama of the East China Sea.
Access: From "Zakimi" or "Ueji" bus stops, it is about a 10-minute walk to the museum.
