This year, I wanted to spend the Spring Festival away from home, so I chose to visit Yongzhou, which is only a three-hour high-speed train ride from Guangzhou, to enjoy the food and scenery. I searched for homestays on Trip.com and found this one, Mubai Homestay, which has a stylish decor. It is located in Lingling Ancient City, close to the surrounding attractions, so I quickly booked two nights. It took me half an hour to get to the homestay from Yongzhou Railway Station by taxi. There are plenty of parking spaces at the entrance, and many cars with Guangdong license plates. The hostess asked about our arrival time in advance and greeted us at the door early. After we entered the homestay, she invited us to eat fruit and drink tea. The temperature in Yongzhou dropped sharply during the Spring Festival, so she asked us to warm ourselves by the fire and eat some peanuts and red dates, which warmed our hearts.
The homestay has two floors and is quite spacious. It combines many retro wooden furniture pieces and has a classic charm. The hostess said that there are only three rooms in total, and the rest are public spaces for guests to use, which is full of sentiment.
We booked a room on the second floor, which has a high ceiling and clean and comfortable bedding. Sitting on the terrace and basking in the sun during the day, I felt like I was in a Bai architectural complex in Dali. It was quiet, and the sound of fireworks and firecrackers added to the festive atmosphere.
In the past two days, I visited the ancient city and Liuzi Temple, which have different characteristics during the day and at night. Chaoyangyan Park is also very interesting. Yongzhou blood duck and Dong'an chicken are also delicious. In the evening, I warmed myself by the fire, drank tea, and watched movies at the homestay, which allowed me to experience the winter of Hunan people and enjoy a leisurely Spring Festival.
