Yandangshan is located in Yueqing, Zhejiang Province, China, with parts in Yongjia County and Wenling. It is 297 km from Hangzhou and 68 km from Wenzhou.

History and Culture
Yandangshan was first developed during the Southern and Northern Dynasties, flourished in the Tang Dynasty, and reached its peak in the Song Dynasty. Prince Zhaoming of the Liang Dynasty built a temple and a pagoda at the foot of Furong Peak. The Tang Dynasty monk Nuozhuna from the Western Regions came here to spread Buddhism and was regarded as the founder of Yandangshan. Many literati and scholars, such as Xie Lingyun, Shen Kuo, Xu Xiake, and Kang Youwei, left poems, inscriptions, and calligraphy here.

Geology and Landforms
Yandangshan is the most complete and typical Cretaceous rhyolitic caldera in the circum-Pacific continental margin volcanic belt, formed more than 120 million years ago. It belongs to the low mountains and hills in southeastern Zhejiang, with higher terrain in the west and lower terrain in the east. The mountains mostly extend in a northeast-southwest direction, with an altitude of 500 to 600 meters, and the highest peak, Baigangjian, is 1,056.5 meters above sea level.

Climate
It has a subtropical marine climate, with abundant rainfall and warm weather, no severe cold in winter, and no extreme heat in summer. The annual average temperature is 13.5°C, and the annual average rainfall is 1,935.6 mm.

Scenic Areas and Attractions
- Lingfeng Scenic Area: Known for its strange peaks, rocks, ancient caves, and peculiar holes, it has unique peaks such as Hezhang Peak and Rhino Peak. Hezhang Peak is the representative of Yandangshan. The night view of Lingfeng is unique, with changing shapes as you move, such as the Husband and Wife Peaks showing different scenes from different angles.
- Lingyan Scenic Area: One of the three wonders of Yandangshan, it has strange peaks and rocks such as Zhongyan, Guyan, and Tianzhu Peak, as well as the ancient Lingyan Temple. You can watch the Lingyan Flying Show here, where local mountain people perform thrilling high-altitude shows.
- Dalongqiu Scenic Area: A collection of peaks, cliffs, waterfalls, and streams, with the spectacular 190-meter-high Dalongqiu Waterfall.
- Sanzhepu Scenic Area: It has three waterfalls, with the best view at the upper waterfall.
- Fangdong Scenic Area: Carved out of the cliffs, it has attractions such as Cliff Coffee, Iron Chain Bridge, and Yingtian Lake, offering a panoramic view of the magnificent Yandangshan.

Travel Tips
Each scenic area is independent and needs to be visited separately. You can take a high-speed train directly to Yandangshan Station and transfer to a free shuttle bus to the scenic area. The shuttle bus costs CNY 10 per ride, CNY 40 for unlimited rides for three days, and CNY 60 for unlimited rides for five days. Dining and accommodation are concentrated in Xianglingtou Village.
