Yueyang Tower is an ancient city tower located above the west gate of the ancient city of Yueyang City, Hunan Province. It faces Dongting below, Junshan Mountain in front, and the Yangtze River in the north. It has the reputation of "the water is in the world in Dongting, and the tower is in the sky in Yueyang".
The Yueyang Tower was built around 220 AD. According to legend, its predecessor was the "Yueyang Tower" of the Eastern Wu general Lu Su during the Three Kingdoms period. It was called the "Baling Tower" during the Western Jin Dynasty and the Southern and Northern Dynasties, and was called the "Yueyang Tower" in the mid-Tang Dynasty. Yueyang Tower is the only ancient building that maintains its original appearance among the three famous towers in Jiangnan.

Climbing the city wall, the Yueyang Tower is majestic, with 3 floors, 19.42 meters high, 14.54 meters deep, 17.42 meters wide, covering an area of ​​251 square meters, supported by four columns and upturned eaves. The four golden nanmu pillars in the building run straight through the roof, and are surrounded by corridors, rafters, rafters and purlins that interlock with each other to form a whole. The whole building does not use a single iron nail. It is amazing. The Yueyang Tower also has a helmet-top structure with a curved roof. Smooth, steep and curved, like the head of an ancient warrior
