Cherry Blossom Viewing in the Mountains of Yufuin

For travel enthusiasts, Yufuin is a must-visit town if you're heading to Fukuoka. But let me tell you, visiting Yufuin during cherry blossom season is ten times more beautiful. Being a town nestled in the mountains, the backdrop is surrounded by mountains in every direction. With the Oita River flowing through, you get to enjoy a view of mountains, rivers, and cherry blossoms all at once—a perfect artistic composition. As for transportation, we traveled by bus from Tenjin-Minami Station, booking a Nishitetsu bus. It's a direct bus ride without needing to change lines, arriving at Yufuin Station in about two and a half hours. The fare is 3,250 yen. I recommend coming early in the morning, walking from the station to take photos of cherry blossoms along the river, and then strolling along the riverside all the way to Kinrin Lake.
