Baisha Ancient Town

Baisha was busier than we were expecting for rural China. With the Yulong mountain as a backdrop, the town is tidy and quaint.

Each store offered something unique and we got some amazing prints made from wood carvings. The lady behind the counter was helpful in recommending prints for different reasons. There are stores selling local snacks and local, handmade items such a soap and perfume.

There was a clear Naxi presence with what my kids called “cowboys” being present at multiple restaurants (beef/yak speciality).

The Naxi embroidery museum was a great visit as was the cultural museum.

A great pit stop before heading towards Yulong mountain.
