Baisha Ancient Town, visit the birthplace of Mufu, one of the three ancient towns in Lijiang

#AprilGoodDestinations2025

Baisha Ancient Town, an ancient town about 12 kilometers north of Lijiang City, was once the ancient capital of the Naxi people and the birthplace of the Mu family. It is known as one of the three major ancient towns in Lijiang together with Dayan Ancient Town and Shuhe Ancient Town. It is a treasure village where you can see the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain just by looking up.

Baisha Ancient Town retains its original appearance and has a low degree of commercial development. Although it is not as lively as Lijiang Ancient Town, it is relatively simple and quiet, and is very suitable for people who like quiet and in-depth tourism.

There is a very famous attraction in the ancient town - the Baisha murals. The murals were painted from the early Ming Dynasty to the early Qing Dynasty, which lasted for more than 300 years. They are famous for their unique painting style.
