Yuxi Night Market Foodie Guide

Hi, sisters! This trip to Yuxi and Mile in Yunnan really surprised me so much! Let me share with you my super chill two-day itinerary, with all the photo spots and landmarks picked out for you～

✨Day 1: Highlights of Yuxi Citywalk
🏨 Recommended stay: Yaster Hotel (109 Coral Road)
This hotel’s location is absolutely perfect! Right in the city center but super quiet, and the best part is it’s just a 10-minute walk to Nie Er Music Square and Taobao Street Night Market! The rooms have a trendy vibe, and you can enjoy authentic rice noodles for breakfast. Plus, the washing machine is free to use~ Don’t forget to bring a face mask so you can pamper yourself at night and relieve travel fatigue.

🏙️ Must-visit spots at night:
1⃣️ Nie Er Music Square: There’s a fountain light show in the evening, and locals love to take a stroll here.
2⃣️ Taobao Street Night Market: You must try the grilled tofu and papaya juice here, all for just 10 yuan until you’re full! The stalls usually stay open until around 11 PM.

✨Day 2: Popular landmarks in Mile
🚗 Travel tips: It’s a 1.5-hour drive from Yuxi to Dongfeng Yun Scenic Area, or you can take the high-speed train to Mile Station and then a taxi.
📍 Dongfeng Yun Scenic Area (Xinshao Town, Mile City)
The 80 yuan entrance fee is totally worth it! I recommend entering before 10 AM when it’s less crowded and perfect for photos. The red brick buildings are incredibly photogenic, so remember to wear white or bright colors! There’s a sightseeing shuttle inside the park, and it’s best to buy a full-route ticket to save your energy～

🍴 Food recommendations:
1⃣️ The art restaurant inside the scenic area: The atmosphere is amazing, and for about 60 yuan per person, you can enjoy authentic steam pot chicken.
2⃣️ Yuxi snacks near Yaster Hotel: Papaya juice paired with cold rice noodles is a perfect combo.

💡 Useful tips:
1. Dongfeng Yun stops admitting visitors at 5:45 PM, so be sure to go early!
2. Bring sunscreen and a hat, you know how strong the UV rays are in Yunnan.
3. The laundry room at Yaster Hotel is super handy—after a day out, you can wash your clothes right away, very convenient.
